Bathinda: Ninety-six judges in various districts of Punjab were transferred on administrative grounds on April 28. Mansa civil judge (senior division) Rajinder Singh Nagal has been redesignated as chief judicial magistrate Mansa in place of Ravneet Singh, who has been transferred as chief judicial magistrate SAS Nagar.Shilpa, civil judge (senior division)/CJM/secretary district legal services authority Tarn Taran, has been transferred as civil judge (senior division) in place of Rajinder Singh Nagpal.Before his redesignation as CJM, civil judge Rajinder Singh Nagpal, while hearing the defamation case filed by ex MLA Naxar Singh Manshahia, ordered chief minister Bhagwant Mann, an accused in the case, to appear in the court on the next hearing fixed for May 1. The court directed the counsel of the accused to procure the presence of accused Bhagwant Mann on the next date of hearing, failing which his bail order shall be cancelled and coercive method will be adopted to ensure his presence before this court.Though the transfers were made on April 28, the day Judge Rajinder Singh made the orders, he left the charge on Thursday and Shipla assumed the charge.
